WILD ALASKAN PROVISIONS

Recipe: Kelp Pickle Smoked Salmon Dip

Every Alaskan has a go-to Smoked Salmon Dip recipe. It’s a staple at potlucks, picnics, and camping trips all over our great state. Here, we have offered to share ours -- loaded with Foraged & Found’s gourmet pickles! Made from wild harvested Alaskan kelp, these pickles pack a nutrition punch unlike any other pickle. We made this recipe with our Bread & Butter Pickles, but we have a feeling that it would be even more delicious with our Spicy Pickles.

Ingredients

Makes 4 cups

2 c. smoked salmon, chopped (about 2 cans if you don’t have homemade)

8 oz cream cheese, softened (or purchase the whipped style)

½ c sour cream

½ c diced Foraged & Found Kelp Pickles (any flavor)

2 Tbsp mayo

1 Tbsp dijon mustard

1 Tbsp horseradish (dial this back if you use our Spicy Kelp Pickles)

1 - 2 garlic cloves, finely minced

1 Tbsp pickle juice

Salt & Pepper to taste

Method

Mix together all ingredients except the salmon. Taste and adjust seasonings, then fold in the salmon until just mixed. Serve with crackers, stuff deviled eggs, or stuff mushrooms and bake until mushrooms are soft.
