Recipe: Kelp Pickle Tartar Sauce
This fish & chips staple rises to the next level when Foraged & Found's kelp pickles are added to the mix! For a fresh take on a classic sauce, use Foraged & Found's Dill Pickle Slices made from bullwhip kelp. Going for a sweeter vibe? Try Foraged & Found's Bread & Butter Pickle Spears. And for a unique twist (and our founder's personal favorite), use kelp Spicy Pickles to punch up the flavor. This sauce needs to sit overnight in order to let the flavors blend, so plan ahead!
Makes about ¾ cup sauce
½ c. mayonnaise
¼ c. Foraged & Found pickles (flavor of choice), chopped
1 Tbsp. fresh dill, chopped
½ Tbsp. fresh lemon juice (or pickle brine if you’re short a lemon)
½ tsp Dijon mustard
Salt & Pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients well in a sealable container. Seal and refrigerate overnight. Serve on salmon burgers (link to recipe), with fish & chips, or with fries.
